Syria detains hundreds of wanted individuals in three months
The Syrian Ministry of Interior has reported that it has intensified its efforts to pursue and hold accountable those involved in crimes and violations against the Syrian people during Bashar al-Assad's regime. This includes repeated arrests of individuals involved in kidnapping operations, enforced disappearances, massacres, and accusations of committing war crimes. The statement clarified that among those detained are members of the old regime's security apparatus and individuals involved in security operations and crimes against civilians. These measures are part of ongoing efforts to establish institutional legitimacy and affirm the new state's break from a culture of impunity, with investigations and the pursuit of former officials continuing.
