NYT: Patriot missile shortage endangers Ukraine
The New York Times reported that Ukraine is suffering from a severe shortage of Patriot intercept missiles used in air defense. The country is facing challenges in meeting the increasing demand as Russian missile and ballistic attacks escalate, especially after supply chains became more complicated due to the Middle East conflict. Ukraine's monthly need is estimated to be at least 60 PAC-3 missiles, while Lockheed Martin produces about 620 to 650 missiles annually, which is only enough for a few months under the current escalation. President Zelensky stated that Kyiv has requested increased American supplies, but official responses indicate there may be delays in fulfilling these requests.
