The Iran national team conference ahead of their match against New Zealand in the 2026 World Cup confirmed that political circumstances and regional tensions, including the recent war in the Middle East and the ongoing tensions between Iran, the United States, and Israel, have affected the team's preparations. They were forced to move their camp from Arizona to Mexico and faced difficulties obtaining visas. Despite this, the coach and team captain emphasized that their focus remains on athletic competition and sending a message of unity. A large turnout of the Iranian community in Los Angeles is expected to support the team. Political issues overshadowed the accompanying discussions at the conference, while the team is striving to represent Iran honorably in the tournament.
