The body of the Iranian Revolution leader, Mr. Ali Khamenei, was laid to rest in the courtyard of the House of Remembrance at the Rāżawi Shrine in Mashhad, after a wide funeral ceremony attended by crowds from several Iranian cities and Arab countries. The funeral culminated in his burial beside the tomb of Imam Ali ibn Musa al-Ridha (peace be upon him). His eldest son, Ayatollah Mostafa, performed the funeral prayer and circled the body before it was laid to rest. The funeral proceedings lasted several days and were attended by delegations from religious and political circles from dozens of countries.
