Journalist Hashem Al-Bakri, head of the media department at the Executive Authority of the Southern Transitional Council in Aden, was subjected to physical assault and an attempt to confiscate his phone while covering peaceful protests in front of the Ministry of Education in Al-Khourmokser. The purpose was to prevent documenting the demonstration, which condemned the Saudi authorities' decisions regarding the raising of the Southern flag in schools. The Authority also emphasized that the incident violates national principles and constitutes an attack on symbols of Southern identity. They called for an urgent investigation and accountability for the involved parties to prevent such incidents from recurring, stressing that the voice of truth and Southern media will not be deterred from fulfilling their mission.
