UN envoy's remarks upset Yemenis
The article focused on the reactions to the statement by the UN Special Envoy to Yemen, who called for a halt to the military escalation. Yemenis considered it an attempt to save the Houthi movement and a neglect of their responsibility in continuing the war. The envoy warned of a potential military escalation that could lead to humanitarian losses and worsen the situation, emphasizing the importance of a political path and dialogue to prevent such outcomes. Conversely, Yemeni activists viewed the call to stop operations as an effort to protect the Houthis, asserting that the ultimate solution requires the liberation of all Yemeni territories and the end of Iran’s influence in Yemen.
