Indonesia reestablishes airport operations

Indonesia announced the reopening of Sukarno Hatta Airport in Jakarta and four other airports after they were temporarily closed due to volcanic ash fallout resulting from the eruption of Anak Krakatoa volcano, which is considered one of the active volcanoes in the Pacific "Ring of Fire" area. This decision came after weather conditions improved, with authorities deciding to resume flight operations following precautionary measures to avoid dangers posed by ongoing volcanic activity.
