J.P. Morgan is planning to hold a meeting with the British Treasury Secretary to discuss the possibility of imposing taxes on banks' extraordinary profits in the UK. This comes as the new government is considering taxing bank profits as part of the upcoming budget proposal. The situation is marked by cautiousness in the financial markets due to rising borrowing costs and growing inflation fears, which could lead to tax increases aimed at financing the fiscal deficit. The bank also warns that increasing taxes might prompt capital outflows from the country.
