The article focused on the residents of southern Yemen's steadfast attachment to their national identity through ongoing popular protests, particularly around their national symbols such as the flag and the national anthem. They see these symbols as representatives of their sacrifices and their struggle for liberation. Southern society rejects any attempt to undermine these symbols, considering them an essential part of their collective memory and identity for generations to come. Events confirm that this attachment is no longer just slogans but a collective behavior and a firm belief, resisting any attempted marginalization through popular resistance. It serves as a clear message that they will not allow the relinquishing of sovereignty and identity. Additionally, it shows that social unity remains strong, that educational institutions serve as the first line of defense for the national identity, and that any effort to change it is widely rejected by society, reflecting the strong will of the southern people to defend their identity and reclaim the features of their independence.
