The article addresses the crisis situation of the fishing sector in Aden and Yemen in general, resulting from regional tensions and ongoing war. Production has significantly declined, and fish prices have risen by up to 100%, especially due to reduced fishing activity and the decrease in catches caused by attacks on Red Sea ports. The deteriorating security situation has led to a contraction of fishermen’s activities, with ports and boats targeted by Houthi militias, resulting in the destruction of vessels and halting fishing operations. Additionally, conflicts and war-related restrictions have increased costs and led to the deterioration of infrastructure, causing substantial damage to the maritime resources sector, which is an important contributor to Yemen's gross domestic product. Rising tensions have also forced fishermen to flee, and catches have declined further, exacerbating the crisis of rising prices and the loss of a primary source of income for thousands of families.
