Stars' apologies deepen Egypt Arab Music Festival issues
The crisis surrounding the Cairo Mediterranean Music Festival continues ahead of its 34th edition, scheduled for October 2026, after several stars withdrew from participating. Notable among those who declined are Lebanese artist Assi El Helani, artist Mohamed Tharwat, and singer Mai Farouk. Their withdrawal comes in light of recent administrative developments at the Egyptian Opera House and statements made by its head, Rida El Wakeel. The stars' apologies have sparked ongoing controversy and criticism amid uncertainty about the lineup and the repercussions of the crisis ahead of the event.
