Germany sends fighters after false hijack alert
A Boeing 737-800 flight coming from the Greek island of Corfu to Germany experienced a technical malfunction that triggered a false hijacking alert. This led the German Air Force to dispatch two fighter jets to respond to the situation. The aircraft landed safely in Nuremberg, and neither passengers nor crew were in any danger. The airline attributed the incident to a malfunction in the wireless communication system, which caused a temporary halt in Nuremberg Airport's operations after the incident.
