The resignation of Palestinian Minister of Awqaf, Muhammad Najm, came after a video surfaced showing him dipping a misbaha (prayer beads) into water to have a child drink from it, which sparked widespread controversy over the appropriateness of the act and his responsibilities. Social media users expressed surprise, with some linking the practice to popular beliefs, while others defended it. The minister decided to resign to mitigate the negative impact on his public image.
