Iranian Navy observes burning oil tanker in Gulf
The Iranian navy spotted a burning oil tanker as it was crossing a restricted area in the Gulf of Oman east of the Strait of Hormuz, describing it as a "violation" and deactivating its tracking systems without providing an explanation for the fire outbreak. It confirmed that uncoordinated movements in shipping routes pose security threats and significant risks to other vessels in the area.
