Emirati Advisor Discusses South Return
The advisor to the President of the United Arab Emirates, Dr. Abdulkhaleq Abdullah, denied the accuracy of the Guardian newspaper's report indicating a Saudi-Emirati understanding for the UAE's return to Yemen. He confirmed that the UAE has ceased direct military engagement and support for Yemeni forces in the south, but its influence remains intact. He added that UAE influence in Yemen is still significant despite halting direct military support, and any talk of its return depends on its interests and governing strategies.
