The UK Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) said an unidentified projectile struck the port side of a vessel 40 nautical miles south of Iran’s Lavan Island, sparking a fire on board. The crew were reported safe, and there were no reports of environmental impact. The vessel’s identity has not been disclosed, and it is unclear whether the fire has been extinguished. Authorities are continuing their investigation and have urged ships transiting the area to exercise caution.
