Algeria Parliamentary Vote Turnout

The Independent National Electoral Authority in Algeria announced that the initial voter turnout for the legislative elections was 20.79% domestically and 10.67% abroad. Approximately 4.962 million voters participated within Algeria, while 91,000 voted from abroad, out of a total of 23.8 million registered voters locally and 854,000 internationally. A total of 9,854 candidates are competing for 407 parliamentary seats in a five-year term. About 21% of the candidates are women, and 54% are under forty years old. These elections are the second since the protests of 2019, which led to the resignation of President Abdelaziz Bouteflika and the election of President Abdelmadjid Tebboune.
