Study finds steroids ease cancer nausea

A limited study showed that taking dexamethasone before morphine treatment reduces nausea and vomiting in cancer patients during the early days. The study resulted in decreased nausea episodes and a reduced need for additional medications during the first three days, with differences between the two groups disappearing by day five. The report will be presented at the American Society of Clinical Oncology meeting in Singapore.
