Germany sees record naturalizations with Syrians leading

According to data from the Federal Statistical Office in Germany, the number of people acquiring German citizenship last year reached 332,500, marking the highest figure in the country's history, with a 14% increase compared to the previous year. Syrians remained the largest group of naturalized citizens for the fifth consecutive year, accounting for one in every five new citizens from Syria, despite a 21% decrease compared to 2024.
