China hosts 8 of top 10 cargo ports

In 2025, China was ranked among the top 10 largest ports in the world in terms of cargo volume, accounting for eight of them. The total volume of goods shipped and unloaded reached 18.3 billion tons, with 354 million container units exchanged, and a total shipping fleet capacity of 490 million tons. During the 14th Five-Year Plan, China also increased the number of port berths to 3,061, and added 2,500 kilometers of high-quality waterways.
