The Terkhouri mummy, dating back to the Neolithic period and approximately 7,000 years old, was exhibited at the National Museum in Tripoli after more than twenty years of being sent to Italy for research and restoration. It was discovered in 2003 in the Terkhouri area of Jebel AkaaKous, and transferred to Rome in 2004, where it underwent restoration processes and research studies. The mummy was returned to Libya via an Italian military aircraft, and plans are underway to display it to the public by the end of next July. It is part of the cultural cooperation between the two countries aimed at strengthening relations and documenting Libyan archaeological heritage.
