Abdul El-Sayed, a Michigan Democratic Senate candidate, has apologized for previous comments linking a synagogue shooting to his remarks about Israel and for past criticisms of President Obama, which he appeared to walk back in an interview. He emphasized that he respects Obama’s efforts despite his earlier criticisms and addressed backlash from a recent incident involving the attack at a Michigan synagogue.
