Wearing gloves doesn't prevent germs in food prep

Wearing gloves while preparing food does not prevent the transmission of germs if they are not used properly. Gloves can become a source of microbial transfer when touching contaminated surfaces such as phones, door handles, cash, or other surfaces, then using them to directly contact food. It is recommended to change gloves immediately after they become contaminated or when switching between tasks, and to thoroughly wash hands before and after glove use. Ultimately, hand hygiene and proper glove use are among the most important measures to reduce infection transmission during food preparation and cooking.
