Bashir's lawyer confirms transfer to Khartoum

Omar al-Bashir, the ousted Sudanese president, has been transferred to a military hospital in Khartoum for medical treatment, based on his family's request, who confirmed that his condition requires treatment outside Sudan and that he needs additional care. The nature of his illness has not yet been disclosed, and official authorities have prohibited any comments on his condition. There are warnings that transferring al-Bashir abroad for treatment could provoke internal disagreements and international condemnations due to his requests to the International Criminal Court and the existence of cases against him in Sudan. Al-Bashir faces numerous charges, including genocide, after he was ousted from power in 2019 following a popular uprising.
