October 8, 2026 Private Sector Holiday Details

It has been decided that Thursday, October 8, 2026, will be an official paid holiday for the private sector in celebration of Armed Forces Day and the October Victories Anniversary, replacing Tuesday, October 6. This change is part of the government's efforts to unify national holiday dates across different sectors, while respecting circumstances that may require workers to be on duty during the holiday. In such cases, employees will be entitled to double pay or an alternative day off if their work is necessary. The decision is based on Labor Law No. 14 of 2025 and aims to organize holidays in a way that reflects their national significance and promotes national unity.
