Harry's memories with Princess Diana and his feelings of happiness

In an incident that summarizes the impact of fragrances on memory retrieval, Prince Harry revealed that his mother Diana's perfume, "First" by Van Cleef & Arpels, helped him regain memories of her after years of her absence. He was 12 years old when his mother passed away, and her death was a psychological shock for him. However, using her favorite scent along with therapy helped him overcome emotional barriers and unlocked stored memories. Harry confirmed that inhaling Diana's perfume brought back a feeling of happiness, which he believed he shouldn't have felt due to her passing. Yet, he later realized that his mother wanted him to be happy. This example highlights how scents can trigger memories and themes of grief and emotional adaptation, demonstrating the important role fragrances can play in the process of psychological healing.
