Actress Salma Blair detained on plane

US authorities have arrested actress Salma Blair following a tense incident on a Delta Airlines flight between Los Angeles and New York. She was accused of causing conflicts and assaulting crew members and other passengers. According to reports, she attempted to open the aircraft door, bit one crew member, and kicked another, resulting in injuries to two flight attendants—one of whom was hospitalized. After arriving at John F. Kennedy Airport, she appeared before a New York court, where her lawyer argued that she was experiencing a medical emergency related to multiple sclerosis, emphasizing that her actions were not deliberate. She was released on a $20,000 bail, while investigations and the scheduled trial in January 2027 continue. The FBI is also monitoring the case.
