Mona Zaki's family highlights at Gouna 2026

The opening ceremony of the Ninth El Gouna Film Festival featured the honoring of actress Mona Zaki, who received the Creative Achievement Award in recognition of her career spanning over two decades in cinema and television. During the ceremony, Mona Zaki was brought to tears as she accepted the award, and she spoke about her fears of trying new experiences, urging young artists not to let fear overpower them. The tribute included an audio message from her daughter, Lili, who expressed her love and appreciation for her mother. Her husband, Ahmed Helmy, was absent due to a family matter in London, but he congratulated her via Instagram with brief words. It is worth mentioning that Mona Zaki, in her speech, reflected on key moments of her artistic journey, mentioning the challenges and setbacks she faced, all supported by her colleagues—an indication of her appreciation for their contributions to the arts.
