The Saudi Camel Racing Federation announces the organization of the eighth edition of the Crown Prince Camel Festival in 2026. The event will take place at the historic Taif Racecourse starting from September 3rd and will run for 11 days. The program includes 248 races with total prizes exceeding 50 million riyals, featuring top camels from within and outside the Kingdom. The competition categories vary, including Al-Ha’iq, Al-Lay’a, Al-Jadh’, Al-Thaniyah, and Hail and Zomol, with individual heats, cups, and races designated for men and women, in addition to participation from Arab countries. For the first time, the Crown Prince Festival Cup for Saudis will be held, with a cash prize of 500,000 riyals awarded to the participant achieving the greatest number of wins based on points. The festival has previously set records, such as the largest number of camels participating and the biggest illuminated camel sculpture. Its goal is to reinforce heritage and promote camel racing culture at both the national and international levels, supported and overseen by the Crown Prince, with an organization aiming to develop the sector economically and tourism-wise.
