Emirates Global Aluminium Restores Quarter of Long Valley Smelter

Emirates Global Aluminum has restored approximately 25% of the operations at the Long Al loop smelter after it was damaged last March, with 315 electrolytic cells out of 1,262 back into operation. The restart process is proceeding gradually, with the three lines at the Long Al loop smelter fully operational between May and August. Each cell requires about a week to reach its full production capacity. Restoring these operations presents a significant challenge for the company, but it boosts confidence in the potential to regain full production capacity by the first quarter of 2027.
