Kirk Cousins on Fernando Mendoza after benching
Fernando Mendoza made his NFL debut with the Las Vegas Raiders during a 45-17 loss to the Patriots, completing 6 of 8 passes for 48 yards in a limited appearance. Despite the challenging circumstances, he showed positive signs, but the starting quarterback Kirk Cousins remains in his position, with the coaching staff emphasizing the veteran's solid performance and leadership. Mendoza's participation was solely to give him experience, as the Raiders prioritized winning and maintaining Cousins' starting role.
