Ukraine war update: Russia announces security zone inside Ukraine

Russian President Vladimir Putin announced the establishment of a non-negotiable “security zone” along Ukraine’s border, spanning 660 km, in response to Ukraine’s recent incursions into Russian territory. The zone, mostly under Russian control, aims to secure Russia’s border regions and will not be part of future peace negotiations. Meanwhile, Ukraine faces ongoing Russian attacks, resulting in civilian casualties, power outages, and damage to infrastructure amid escalating conflict.
