Parasitic Infection Causes Largest Outbreak in the United States in Recent Years

Approximately one thousand cases of a parasitic disease causing watery diarrhea lasting for weeks have been recorded in Michigan, USA. This represents the largest outbreak of its kind in the state in recent years. The sources of the parasite infection, which is believed to be Cyclospora, have not yet been identified. Investigations are ongoing into similar cases in 28 other states, including Ohio.
