Additionally, bladder and urethra functions change: bladder capacity diminishes, and the ability to delay urination weakens, increasing the likelihood of frequent urination, incontinence, and urinary tract infections. In men, the prostate gland tends to enlarge with age, which can obstruct urine flow and heighten the risk of urinary retention and kidney damage if not properly treated.
