Anbar: Most of the Al-Walid border rehab done

The Anbar Governorate announced that the rehabilitation work at the Al-Walid border crossing is progressing rapidly, with 70% completion achieved in the first phase. Walid Contracting Company began implementing the project at the end of 2025. The project includes the construction of 80 portable security, administrative, and service offices, as well as opening internal and external roads to facilitate traffic movement. Additionally, asphalt has been replaced with concrete to ensure it can withstand heavy trucks. A power station, turbines, and a distribution network have also been installed, with some remaining tasks totaling no more than 30%. The aim of the project is to enhance the operational capabilities of the crossing, with a future plan to build permanent structures at an estimated cost of around 60 billion dinars, in order to improve infrastructure and services for travelers and trucks.
