Foreign Ministry: Iraq enters new phase after coalition exit

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed that the official conclusion of the international coalition's mission to combat ISIS in Iraq signifies the country's transition to a new phase, in which the Iraqi government assumes full responsibility for its security and stability. It indicated that this development strengthens Iraq's sovereignty and highlights the capabilities of its security institutions to safeguard the homeland. The statement also emphasized the ongoing cooperation with friendly nations in areas such as training and knowledge exchange, noting that this does not end the continuous security collaboration to support counter-terrorism efforts. Additionally, it reaffirmed the commitment to continue confronting terrorism and to enhance international relations based on mutual respect.
