Al-Zaydi Declares Sovereignty and Security Plans
Iraqi Prime Minister Ali Falah al-Zaydi confirmed that Iraq has completed establishing its sovereignty over its land, skies, and territorial waters, following the withdrawal of foreign forces and agreements reached regarding the Turkish presence and the members of the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK). This included ending the mission of the international coalition, understanding the withdrawal of Turkish troops and foreign armed groups, and unifying the Peshmerga forces to strengthen security and military unity. He noted that the upcoming phase requires disarming weapons under state control and enhancing national interests to achieve genuine sovereignty that aligns with the aspirations of the Iraqi people.
