France anticipates 200,000 protesters over living costs
France is preparing for widespread protests against the high cost of living, with an expected participation of around 200,000 people, including 40,000 in Paris, on Saturday. President Macron has called for calm and respect, as there are concerns about a return to violence following previous demonstrations, especially with the upcoming presidential elections in April and May. The "Yellow Vests" movement has supported the protests, while the "Fraternity of Courage" party has endorsed the demonstrations. The far-right "National Rally" has blamed students for the unrest. The Prime Minister has ordered the establishment of an emergency task force to monitor the protests, which coincide with increasing demands to protect society from inflation and to improve spending on public services, particularly education.
