The eighth column discusses Bedouins
The article presents sharp criticisms of Iraq's political performance, highlighting a shift of focus from economic modernization and development to political disputes, quotas, and populist statements. It discusses the government's failure to provide basic services such as electricity and points out Iraq's decline compared to Gulf countries, which enjoy a higher standard of living. The article also notes the depreciation of the Iraqi dinar and rising poverty rates, while Gulf nations excel in environmental quality indicators and per capita income. It emphasizes that current policies deepen the economic and social crisis, turning Iraq into a country suffering from deteriorating living conditions. The author also expresses astonishment at the government's refusal to acknowledge the reality of the situation and its insistence on maintaining political appearances only.
