Al-Habbaniyah Lake Nears Full Capacity

The Love Lake in Al-Anbar Province, Iraq, has experienced a noticeable environmental and water revival as it approaches full capacity. Its water reserves have risen to approximately 2.5 billion cubic meters out of a total capacity of 3.4 billion cubic meters, thanks to sustained water releases totaling 300 cubic meters per second. This has led to increased water levels, positively impacting visitor patterns and recreational activities, as well as improving biodiversity. The conditions for fish and bird life have improved, strengthening the ecosystem's stability and boosting fishing opportunities, as well as improving the living conditions of fishermen after years of drought. The filling process is expected to be completed soon, with water continued to flow, supporting economic sources and tourism development in the region.
