Dispute Over Experimental Zones or Sovereignty

The article discusses the developments in the Lebanon conflict, focusing on the "Experimental Areas" project, whose implementation steps have been postponed due to the Lebanese army's deployment in areas previously classified as under Israeli occupation. This situation has confused Israel, which was aiming to demonstrate a gradual withdrawal from the south. The move led to the suspension of the military meeting between Lebanon and Israel, amid disagreements between Washington and Tel Aviv over the pace of withdrawal and related assurances. While the United States supports continued withdrawal and the unification of Lebanese territories, Israel remains committed to partial withdrawal and maintaining its security zone. Disputes over maps and the implementation process have complicated matters further, with Israel closely monitoring Lebanese performance and the possibility that the "Experimental Areas" may become a de facto reality. This situation threatens to expand Israel's influence at the expense of Lebanese sovereignty without a full Israeli withdrawal.
