Baabda FPM condemns school closure

An article was published about the Lebanese Ministry of Education's decision to shut down the Hadat Official Secondary School, which was condemned by the Free Patriotic Movement. The article deemed the reasons given, particularly the cost-saving argument, unjustified, noting that the building is owned by the Beyrouth Municipal Council and the state does not pay rent. Furthermore, the school continues to operate regularly through the official supplementary school that shares the same building. The article pointed out that most students rely on afternoon classes due to their economic circumstances, and closing the school threatens their educational future. The committee called for a reassessment of the decision and for support of public schools, emphasizing that cost-cutting should not come at the expense of students' right to education.
