Truth Behind Doctor Food Release

The Lebanese court ordered the release of George Deb, known as Doctor Food, after he paid his financial bail in connection with a case of assaulting his ex-wife. However, he remains detained due to being prosecuted in a drug trafficking case, which is awaiting a final judicial decision, as no ruling has yet been issued to clear him of this charge. It is expected that Deb will benefit from the general amnesty law, especially since the drug offense was committed before March 1, 2026, and has neither been repeated nor prosecuted again, potentially allowing his release as soon as the law takes effect, following a session to hear his testimony.
