Security forces seize 55,000 traffic violations in a month

The General Directorate of Internal Security Forces in Lebanon has affirmed that their campaign to crack down on traffic violations is ongoing. Between September 7 and October 6, 2026, a total of 55,881 violations were recorded, with the most common being speeding, driving without license plates, not wearing a seatbelt, and using the phone while driving. The campaign resulted in the seizure of 1,906 vehicles that violated regulations and 4,562 illegal motorcycles, with the aim of reducing traffic accidents and promoting road safety.
