Revolutionary Guards' Human Trafficking Record

The U.S. State Department report classifies Iran in the Tier 3 (lowest) category regarding human trafficking, accusing the Iranian regime of not adhering to anti-trafficking standards, and of involving officials and soldiers in forcibly recruiting children, using them in security and military operations, including participation in regional conflicts. The report also highlights the government's failure to pursue effective legal actions or provide protection for trafficking victims, with some continuing to face abuse. Tehran's support for groups that use child soldiers, such as the Houthis in Yemen, is also noted, without sufficient efforts to address these violations. This classification underscores the absence of legal and institutional efforts to combat human trafficking, creating an environment conducive to the exploitation of children and migrants.
