Sudanese drones strike kills 16 in West Kordofan

Sixteen civilians, including women and children, were killed in drone missile attacks carried out by the Sudanese army in the towns of Gubish and Al-Nuhod west of Kordofan, according to the Kordofan Observatory. The strikes targeted a residential neighborhood and a displacement camp, resulting in the death of four members of one family in Gubish, as well as twelve civilians in a building used to house displaced persons in Al-Nuhod. Such attacks on areas outside the army’s control have been repeated, causing civilian casualties and injuries, raising concerns about a dangerous escalation that could threaten the lives of displaced persons and residential neighborhoods. Notably, these areas have not experienced direct clashes, and these attacks constitute a violation of international humanitarian law, amounting to a war crime.
