Haj updates Aoun on fiber optic and 5G rollout

Minister of Communications Charbel Hajj announced a broad plan to develop Lebanon's fiber-optic network, aiming to connect 700,000 homes over three years. The implementation will begin in nine areas and expand to 16 additional areas by the end of the year, making 2027 the year of fiber optics. It is also expected that the expansion of the mobile network and improvements to 5G services will reduce congestion, with coverage extending to major cities next year. The government, Ogero, and LibanCell are continuing their efforts to enhance internet services while preserving employees' rights.
