Abu Dhabi Chess Festival hosts 2250 players

The 32nd edition of the Abu Dhabi International Chess Festival 2026 has been launched under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Nayhan bin Zayed Al Nahyan. The event runs from August 15 to 24 at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Abu Dhabi. A total of 2,250 players from around the world are participating in this edition, including 300 from the UAE, with a record-breaking presence of over 400 players from outside the country. The festival features 34 diverse events, including new activities such as Chinese chess, Dais chess, and a championship for People of Determination, all aimed at developing skills and enhancing the game's global stature. The Abu Dhabi Sports Council supports the festival, which has become one of the largest and most significant chess festivals worldwide.
