Laporta Criticizes Real Madrid

Barcelona president Joan Laporta launched strong criticisms against Real Madrid, accusing the latter of attempting to divert attention from the team's sporting successes by exploiting the Negreira case. He claimed that Real Madrid is trying to diminish the value of Barcelona's achievements, which include nine players who have won the World Cup, and emphasized that the team maintains exceptional levels both domestically and internationally. Laporta also accused the Royal Club of trying to tarnish Barcelona's image and undermine its stature by politicizing the issue, amid investigations into suspicious payments totaling approximately 7.3 million euros made by Barcelona between 2001 and 2018 to companies linked to the former vice president of the referees' technical committee. His actions come after UEFA announced receiving documents from Real Madrid regarding this matter, which has sparked tensions between the two Spanish rivals.
