FIFA sanctions Hossam and Hassan

Hossam Hassan, the head coach of the Egyptian national team, and Ibrahim Hassan, the team manager, received a three-match suspension each from FIFA's Disciplinary Committee. Additionally, the player's Mustafa Abdel Rauf "Zico" was suspended for five matches, following the national team's participation in the World Cup and their 3-2 loss to Argentina in the Round of 16. This came after Hossam Hassan made statements accusing FIFA of favoritism towards Messi for promotional reasons, and Zico criticized French referee François Letexier, describing his performance as unjust. These comments may be linked to the penalties imposed. The Egyptian Football Association requested detailed reasons for the sanctions to review and follow up on appeal procedures, although specifics about the violations have not yet been disclosed.
